MEMBERSHIP
The membership is the highest legislative authority of the Association and it consist of Member Conferences of Women Religious Superiors of Eastern and Central Africa in Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
PLENARY ASSEMBLY
The Plenary Assembly is held triennially (after every three years) and is convoked by the president of the Association. It consists of the Council of Delegates drawn from the Member Conferences. (National Associations).
At the Plenary Assembly, matters of procedure and other minor matters require a simple majority vote of the members present, while other ordinary decisions require absolute majority of members present. It is also at the Plenary Assembly that other important decisions like amending the Constitution, etc. are taken.

The Board of Directors is the body responsible for ordinary decisions of the Association and for the implementation of resolutions and orientations of the Council of Delegates. Headed by a president, the Board is an important link in the chain of communion and communication with all the levels of the Association. It comprises the President and nine members from the Member Conferences (National Associations).
The President of the Association who must always be a superior general is elected by the Council of Delegates during the Assembly through a secret ballot with a two thirds majority vote. The Chairperson of the National Association hosting the next Plenary Assembly automatically becomes the Vice President of the Association, while the chairpersons from the Member Conferences together with the president form the Board of Directors.

EXECUTIVE BOARD
This is the board that executes the general administration of the Association and is headed by the Secretary General who coordinates the internal affairs within her mandate. She works hand in hand with other staff from the different departments at the Secretariat namely Finance, Programmes, Communication, etc. to execute the activities of the Association.
Thus, in practice, she is the Administrator and the overseer of the administration, executor of mandates of the Plenary Assembly and coordinator of the activities of the Secretariat and its departments and the principal spokes-person of the Association. She is answerable to the Board of Directors.
